Up for sale, a 1994 Fender Precision Bass '62 vintage reissue model PB62-53 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and rarely seen outside its country of origin, this '"Made in Japan" '62 Precision was crafted during the golden age of Fender Japan production.Looking to capture the magic that made the early 1960s P Bass so beloved, Fender Japan released this '62 reissue with the same cosmetic appointments, boasting the warmth, articulation and fundamental thump that defines the Precision tone. The bass features a basswood body, maple neck and slab rosewood fretboard, offering a smooth, tonally balanced and resonant acoustic platform. The bass weighs 8lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with roundwound 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with moderate shoulders at the nut, lightly rolled fretboard edges and a gentle increase in overall heft further up the fretboard, measuring .810" deep at the 1st fret and .940" at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard retains the original slender vintage-style fretwire which has its full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing just a touch of wear beneath the A and D strings on frets 1-4. The scale length is 34”, the fretboard has a vintage spec 7 1/4" radius, and the nut measures 42.5mm in width (just fractionally shy of 1 11/16"). On the headstock, the vintage-style clover button tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch well with light surface patina. The "Made in Japan" text and N-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate. The traditional electronics work as they should, with the original pickup wired to Master Volume and Tone controls. Hardware includes the chrome-plated flat-topped knurled knobs and four-saddle bridge with steel saddles. The finish is accented by a "tomato soup" red tortoise pickguard, and cosmetic wear is limited to a few minor finish chips on the lower bout body edge, and some small, scattered dings on the body as a whole, largely relegated to the back. The neck profile retains its smooth ambered gloss.A gigbag is included.
