This “Made in Japan” Strat was crafted at the Fujigen factory during the golden age of Fender Japan as part of the Order Made program, which offered numerous non-catalog finish and component options. This particular Order Made Stratocaster boasts top-tier features typically reserved for Fender Japan’s very finest instruments, including a stunning birdseye maple neck and a three-tone sunburst lacquer finish over an ash body. Acoustically, this Strat has a rich midrange presence and cut via the inherent properties of ash as a tonewood, providing an ideal platform for the trio of Fender’s American Vintage 57/62 pickups. These pickups are an aftermarket addition, but likely closely mirror the original pickups, featuring cloth-covered leads, black fiber bobbins, and staggered, beveled pole pieces.
