Up for sale, a 1994 Fender Jazz Bass model JBG-70 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This uncommon, upper-tiered Fender Japan Jazz Bass had a limited production run in the ‘90s with a satin Matte Brown (catalog: MBR) finish that has a decidedly red hue, accented by gold hardware.
Tonewoods include an ash body and a maple neck capped by a slab rosewood fretboard, and this bass weighs 9lbs 8oz. The bridge pickup delivers plenty of cut and burp, with a smooth treble grind and more warmth and thickness via the neck pickup. This Jazz Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and spot-on intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Slender U at nut, more heft in upper registers, measuring .825” 1st fret, .975” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 7 1/4” vintage-spec radius
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 34”
-Nut: 1 1/2”, bone
-Tuners: Clover buttons, gold-plated
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” N-prefix
Body Specs:
-Wood: Sen ash
-Pickups: JB-Vintage single coil x2
-Controls: Volume x2, Tone
-Hardware: Bridge with barrel saddles, control plate
-Plastics: Three-ply pickguard, pointer knobs
Cosmetic wear on the satin Matte Brown finish includes a few small chips along the lower bout perimeter and neck heel, concentrated buckle rash on the back central to the upper bout, and a number of minor scuffs/nicks on the top and back along the lower bout edge. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile has a few shallow marks along the profile length that are not distracting to the palm while fretting.
A gigbag is included.
