1994 Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster Sunburst Near-Mint w/ Hangtags, Case

Up for sale, a 1994 Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster in near-mint, 100% original and in perfect working order, complete with all hangtags and the tweed hardshell case. This early Corona, CA factory example of the American Vintage '57 platform features an alder body and one-piece maple neck, yielding a balanced, snappy natural acoustic tone.

Via the original trio of black bobbin alnico magnet single coils, this Strat can chime, sparkle, and quack with the best, delivering an array of classic Fender tones. Whether it's the biting twang of the bridge position, the extra warmth and girth that comes from the neck single coil (ideal for lead work), or the thinned-out quack on the "in-between" positions on the three-way switch, this Strat is simply a delight to play. The guitar weighs 7lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action and accurate intonation.

The one-piece maple neck has a round shape with just a hint of a soft V at the nut, filling out to a proper C shape with full shoulders in the upper registers, measuring .835" deep at the 1st fret and .910" at the 12th. The 7 1/4" radius fretboard features practically perfect slender vintage-spec fretwire, playing cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width. On the headstock, the Stratocaster waterslide decal is intact along with the original Kluson-style tuning machines. The neck heel is pencil dated 2-16-94, and the heel and pocket have numerous factory stamps.

The solder joints are untouched, and electronics include the trio of Fender's 57/62 black bobbin pickups with unbeveled alnico pole pieces and cloth-covered leads, wired to CTS pots which date to the 47th week of '93. Plastics are clean and accounted for, and the chrome-plated hardware has plenty of shine.

Exceedingly well-kept, the two-tone nitro lacquer gloss Sunburst finish is 100% original with no touch-up or overspray, and cosmetic wear is limited to just a couple microscopic marks and very faint finish scratches in the clear coat. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original tweed Fender G&G Deluxe hardshell case is included, along with all original hangtags, case candy, and factory paperwork.
