Up for sale, a 1994 Epiphone by Gibson Sheraton II in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This uncommon Epiphone is a discontinued model produced at the Samick factory in Korea, from an era of Epi production that is increasingly well-regarded for its build quality.
Covering all the tonal bases of your favorite ES-335, the Sheraton features maple semi-hollow construction and a five-piece maple/walnut neck. Unplugged, the sound is warm and resonant, and the stock “Samsung” (likely no connection to the electronics giant) humbuckers deliver an array of traditional humbucker tones, with more bite in the bridge position and thicker sounds at the neck. The pickups are also wax-potted for ideal feedback rejection. This Sheraton II weighs 8lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple/walnut
-Shape: Slender C, full shoulders, measuring .820” 1st fret, .925” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, pearloid/abalone block inlay
-Frets: Medium jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 24 3/4"
-Nut Width: 1 11/16"
-Headstock: "Tree of life" inlay, “Gibson” truss rod cover
-Tuners: Gotoh
-Serialization: S4-prefix serial (Samick, 1994 production date), “Made in Korea” text
Body Specs:
-Wood: Maple, maple centerblock
-Pickups: “Samsung” humbucker x2, Neck: 7.95k ohms, Bridge: 8.1k
-Electronics: Volume x2, Tone x2, Three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Tune-o-Matic bridge, stopbar
-Plastics: Amber bonnet knobs
The gloss Vintage Sunburst finish is framed by multi-ply cream binding, and there are just a few tiny marks on top along the strum path. The smooth gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original gigbag is included.
