Out Of Stock
Up for sale a 1994 Epiphone Casino in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Produced in Japan at the Terada factory and featuring a gloss Sunburst finish, this is an uncommon and early Epiphone reissue which preceded the current "Elitist" line. Acoustically, the fully hollow all-maple body has a smooth, bright tone which works well with the original pair of P-90 pickups. These pickups are wound to vintage spec with plenty of midrange bark, and a glassy, percussive quality. Whether you want articulate cleans or thick overdrive, these pickups can produce either with ease and with a refinement far beyond most other modern Casino reissues. The guitar is featherweight at only 6lbs 4oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and dialed in for optimal action and intonation with 10-46 strings.

The maple neck has a very slender C-shaped profile carve with just enough roundness in the shoulders at the nut and a hair more heft as you travel up the fingerboard, measuring .765" deep at the 1st fret and .880" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard features pearloid trapezoid inlay and fret edge binding with practically perfect original medium jumbo frets which have their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing only a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. The guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, ideally adjusted truss rod. The original hand-carved bone nut measures 1 9/16" in width. The headstock retains the original Kluson-style nickel tuners which turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should.

The electronics are untouched, with nickel pickup covers on the P-90s and gold reflector cap knobs on the Volume and Tone controls. The nickel ABR-1 bridge has the correct "Made in Japan" text on the underside, and the orange oval label visible through the F hole has the correct five digit serial for Terada factory production. The nickel plating on the hardware is very clean with only a dusting of surface patina, and the guitar also retains the original pickguard with raised epsilon. The Sunburst finish shows light pick scuffing across the strum path, with a few minor marks extending between the knobs and trapeze tailpiece, as well as some finish scratches and scuffs across the back. The gloss on the neck is clean and silky smooth, with just a few shallow nicks on the profile length.

A black tolex hardshell case with pink plush interior is included.
