1993 Ibanez SV470 SV Series HSH Electric Guitar Transparent Red w/ Case, Japan Fujigen

Up for sale, a 1993 Ibanez SV470 electric guitar in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Expertly crafted at the famed Fujigen factory in Japan, the rare SV470 was introduced in 1992 as part of the SV Series. The sleekly contoured mahogany body features a Transparent Red gloss finish, fitted with gold hardware and an HSH pickup array. The alnico pickup complement includes a V1 humbucker at the neck, S2 single coil in the middle, and a V2 humbucker at the bridge. The guitar delivers a broad tonal range, from meaty humbucker chunk to focused single coil snap and definition. This SV470 is featherweight at 6lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, accurate intonation, and fast action.The maple neck has a slender C-shaped Viper profile carve, fast and effortless with just enough rounded in the shoulders, measuring .790” deep at the 1st fret and .860” at the 12th. The slab 22 fret rosewood fretboard features dot inlay and stock medium jumbo fretwire. The frets have good height and meat, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of fret 1-3 and virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The guitar plays effortlessly in all registers up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The scale length is a full 25 1/2“, and the graphite nut measures 42.5mm (just shy of 1 11/16") in width. The headstock features the stock gold locking Gotoh “Made in Japan” tuners. On the back of the headstock, the original serial number is present with the correct sequence for Fujigen factory production.On the body, all of the electronics function as intended, with a five-way blade pickup selector switch and Master Volume and Tone controls for the HSH pickup array. All of the stock hardware is intact including the gold knurled domed knobs and gold non-locking TZ-6 tremolo with original arm. Exceedingly well-kept, cosmetic wear is limited to just a couple faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The neck profile sports a pristine smooth satin finish.An upgraded aftermarket black tolex hardshell case is included and notably clean. The snap for the interior case pocket no longer functions.
