Up for sale, a 1993 Guild GF-55NT Mini Jumbo in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. This very rare Guild was introduced in 1989, designed as a top-of-the-line successor to the George Gruhn-designed models, with only 166 instruments produced prior to the model’s discontinuation in 1993. This particular guitar was produced at Guild's Westerly, RI factory in the USA, originally sold in Japan via the distributor Yamano.

This GF-55 features George Gruhn’s mini-jumbo body style, with a lower bout width of 16”, and tonewoods include a scalloped X-braced solid AAA spruce top, solid rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck, and bound ebony fingerboard. The body shape yields fantastic projection, and kicks like a cannon when hit hard, offering excellent note-to-note separation. The low end is bold and defined, the midrange has a strong woody cut, and the trebles are round and sparkling. This GF-55 weighs 5lbs 12oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

The gloss finish is framed by multi-ply binding, and this guitar is crack-free. Cosmetic wear is limited to light pick wear, a handful of minor dings on top, and a few light finish scratches on the back at the upper bout, shy of “buckle rash." The neck profile retains its smooth gloss.

The original black tolex hardshell case with gold silkscreen Guild logo on the lid is included, along with the original Guild/Yamano Japanese hangtags and paperwork.
