Up for sale, a 1993 Gibson J-200 Special Edition in near-mint, 100% original condition, complete with a hardshell case and the original CoA. Crafted at Gibson’s Bozeman, MT factory by long-time Gibson master luthier Ren Ferguson, this exceedingly rare iteration of the J-200 is one of just thirty-six units produced (#17). Of that limited run, only a fraction feature the classic tonewood combination found on a golden age Gibson SJ, and this guitar boasts the finest selection Gibson had available with a tightly grained X-braced Sitka spruce top, heavily figured eastern flame maple back and sides, and a gloss Antique Natural nitro lacquer finish.

The model described by Gibson as "King of the Flat-tops" is truly an impressive instrument both visually and sonically, and few acoustic instruments can match the sheer projection and power of a J-200. With a lower bout that's 17" in width and a body depth of over 4 1/2", the tone of this particular Gibson Jumbo is full and balanced, with equal presence and articulate snap afforded each string. The maple back and rims ensure strong note attack and a punchy treble response, with a smooth, relaxed growl emblematic of a soundboard that's been worked-in over the past 30+ years. Weighing 5lbs 4oz, this J-200 Special Edition has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with bronze 12-52 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.
