Up for sale, a 1993 Gibson Flying V ‘67 vintage reissue in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case.A discontinued model with a rare Alpine White gloss nitro lacquer finish, this Flying V boasts solid mahogany construction, loaded with the original pair of Gibson's 496R and 500T humbuckers. The 496R produces incredible sustain and cutting power with its ceramic magnet, adding more highs with increased definition and no mud in high gain scenarios. The 500T is one of Gibson’s most powerful pickups, containing a three ceramic magnet structure, which enables a no-holds-barred rock and roll crunch that never loses its rich combination of enhanced lows and crystal clear highs. Notably lightweight at 7lbs 2oz, we've had this Flying V professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The one-piece mahogany neck has a moderately slender ‘60s-style C-shaped profile carve with just enough shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .895” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a 12” radius and pristine medium jumbo fretwire, playing cleanly up the 24 3/4“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures a full 1 11/16” in width. On the headstock, the original Gibson Deluxe double line tuning machines with greened tulip buttons turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should. All of the electronics work as intended, with the dual humbuckers wired to individual Volume controls and a Master Tone knob. Both humbuckers feature Gibson USA-embossed baseplates, and the harness features two CTS pots which date to the 34th week of 1993, with one modern CTS replacement. The pickup cavities have also added shielding paint to ensure the lowest possible noise floor. The chrome plating on the Tune-o-matic bridge is notably clean, with some light pitting on the stopbar. Plastics comprise the original trio of reflector knobs, cream switch tip, and the four-ply white pickguard. The gloss Arctic White nitro lacquer finish exhibits subtle, uniform aging of the clear coat, with an area of buckle rash on the back central to the bass side. Further cosmetic wear is limited to some localized scuffs and dings on the body points, a few tiny nicks on the lower bout on top, and a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is smooth and clean.A modern form-fit Flying V hardshell case is included.
