Up for sale, a 1989 Gibson Chet Atkins CE chambered acoustic electric classical guitar in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. The CE is among Gibson’s most unique guitars ever produced, designed in collaboration with Atkins and played extensively by Mark Knopfler.

For players that seek the feel and tonality of a traditional nylon string classical guitar, but with a feedback resistant body and an highly tweakable undersaddle pickup system, the Chet Atkins CE is one of the only, and arguably the best, options available. With Volume and Tone thumbwheels on the upper bout, and individual trim pots in the control cavity to tailor the volume of each individual string, the CE's pickup has far more flexibility than a typical piezo. The guitar weighs 7lbs 2oz, with the traditional tonewood combination of a solid spruce top and chambered mahogany body. The gloss nitro lacquer finish exhibits checking across the top, and cosmetic wear includes light buckle rash on the back, scuffing on top along the treble side of the strum path, and some small dings on the body as a whole. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss save for some finish loss on the bass-side shoulder at the 9th fret and a few nicks along the profile length that are not distracting to the palm while fretting.
