Up for sale, a 1993 Fender Mini Telecaster model MTL-32 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A decidedly unique (and adorable) Tele, this rare “Made in Japan” offering was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic audience. The Fender Japan miniature guitars were produced for a few years in the mid ’90s, featuring a mere 18 1/2“ (470mm) scale length and full-size standard Tele electronics and hardware.Tonewoods include an alder body and a one-piece maple neck. Tonally, the pair of TL-Single single coil pickups capture all the classic Tele flavors: plenty of brightness, with chewy twang at the bridge and rounder, punchier sounds at the neck. Naturally, this Mini Tele is featherweight at a mere 5lbs, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a fast-feeling satin finish and a medium C-shaped profile carve with moderate shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .850” deep at the 1st fret and 1.005” at the 12th. The fretboard has a 9 1/2“ radius with flawless slender fretwire, playing cleanly up the 18 1/2“ scale with a straight neck. The nut measures 1 1/2“ in width. On the headstock, the original tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should with clean chrome plating. The “Made in Japan” text and M-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate. On the body, all of the electronics function as intended, with the TL-Single pickups wired to the stock harness and governed by a three-way pickup selector switch and Master Volume and Tone controls. The hardware is all full-sized, taking up far more of the body's real estate than on a normal Telecaster. The chrome plating shines like new, including the flat-topped knurled knobs, control plate, and six-saddle bridge. The one-ply matte black pickguard is pristine, accenting the gloss Olympic White finish. This is an exceedingly well-kept example, with cosmetic wear limited to just a few shallow dings on the back central to the waist. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is immaculate and feels lightning fast in the palm.A gigbag is included, along with the original inspection tag.*Additional Telecaster pictured in last image for size comparison only*
