Up for sale, a 1993 Fender Jazz Bass '62 vintage reissue model JB62-115 in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This 1962 reissue Jazz Bass is an exceedingly rare, top of the line model with a nitro lacquer gloss finish, USA-made pickups and wiring harness, and vintage-spec features including clover button tuners and spiral bridge saddles.Built at the legendary Fujigen factory during the “Made in Japan” era, this bass boasts an alder body, maple neck and slab rosewood fretboard, yielding a resonant natural acoustic response. Weighing 8lbs 15oz, the bass has plenty of articulation and upper midrange burp, with a smooth growl when the bridge pickup is favored. Rolling back the Tone control yields ample thump, and the neck position single coil has plenty of breadth and inherent warmth. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with roundwound 45-100 strings, this Jazz Bass plays well with comfortable action and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a modestly slender U-shaped profile carve with lightly rolled fretboard edges and round shoulders, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and .960" at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard features a vintage spec 7 1/4" radius and slender frets with perfectly rounded crowns, flawless save for very light wear beneath the A string from frets 1-6. The bass conforms to traditional Fender spec with a full 34" scale length, playing cleanly in every register with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod.  The nut measures 1 1/2” in width. The headstock features vintage-style Fender tuners with full-size baseplates and clover buttons, as well as the '62-style Fender Jazz Bass decal. The "Made in Japan" text and N-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate, and the bass has matching JB62-115 model stamps on the neck heel and in the pocket. All of the electronics work as they should, with a standard Volume/Volume/Tone controls layout. The factory pickups are identical to those used in Fender’s American Standard line, and the harness boasts untouched solder joints and USA-made CTS pots that date to the 35th week of 1993. The hardware is in excellent condition, including the bridge with vintage-style spiral saddles. Plastics include the three-ply red tortoise pickguard, as well as the factory trio of knobs, all in exceptional condition. The nitro lacquer three-tone Sunburst gloss finish is an option only available on the highest tiered Jazz Basses offered by Fender Japan, and these instruments represent the smallest fraction of Fender Japan production. The lacquer finish exhibits buckle rash just south of the belly carve, along with a number of minor dings along the edges of the bass, primarily on the lower bout. The ambered gloss nitro lacquer finish on the neck profile is silky smooth and free of wear.A black faux leather gigbag is included.
