Up for sale, a 1993 Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This discontinued model boasts a gloss nitro lacquer two-tone Sunburst finish and is a fairly early Corona Factory example when production totals for the American Vintage line were notably smaller. Tonally, this Strat delivers classic sparkle and twang via the original trio of Fender 57/62 pickups. With staggered, unbeveled alnico magnets, these pickups are faithful to vintage-spec with black fiber bobbins and push-back cloth-covered leads. The bridge position is spanky and bright while retaining an inherent warmth and sweetness, the "in-between" positions on the three-way switch are all quack and snap, and the neck pickup has the girth, clarity, and bell-like chime that makes it perfect for rhythm work and singing lead lines. Particularly smooth and lively-sounding even unplugged, this alder-bodied Strat weighs 7lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, accurate intonation, and low action.

The one-piece maple neck has a modestly slender C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders in every register and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .825" deep at the 1st fret and .870" at the 12th. The 7 1/4" radius fretboard retains the original slender vintage-spec fretwire, and the frets have their full factory height, showing moderate wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-5 and lighter wear beneath the plains extending to fret 10. The neck is straight, the truss rod is ideally adjusted, and the guitar plays well in every register. The original nut measures 1.675" in width (just shy of 1 11/16"). On the headstock, the original Stratocaster waterslide decal is intact along with the original Kluson-style tuning machines. The neck heel is stamped Jan 08, 1993 and the pocket and heel have additional factory stamps.

All of the electronics function as intended, with untouched solder joints, the factory-installed three-way pickup selector, and CTS pots that date to the 47th week of 1992. All of the original plastics are intact with light, uniform aging. Currently setup with three springs, the vibrato is particularly smooth and responsive, jumping back to the original pitch with ease even after deep dives. The chrome hardware on the bridge base and jack cup have plenty of shine, with uniform patina across the saddles. Cosmetic wear on the two-tone Sunburst nitro lacquer gloss is limited to one ding on top behind the bridge, and some light finish scratches and minor marks on the back and body perimeter. The ambered gloss nitro on the neck is clean and smooth.

A black tolex hardshell case is included.
