Up for sale, a 1993 Ernie Ball Music Man Eddie Van Halen signature model in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Made in the USA by Music Man from 1990-1995, the production totals for the EVH Music Man are notably small. Designed by EVH and the model that would eventually become the Music Man Axis (with some tweaks) after the official endorsement ended, this guitar features an absolutely killer bookmatched maple top with prominent dimensional flame figuring extending liberally, finished in a Transparent Purple gloss that has aged and faded to dramatic effect.

Weighing 7lbs 10oz, tonewoods include a basswood body and a flame/birdseye maple neck capped by a slab maple fretboard. The custom pair of DiMarzio humbuckers were wound specifically for this signature model and not offered elsewhere; these pickups are mounted directly to the body for optimal resonance, dishing out plenty of articulate cut and sweet sustain, with more growl and attitude from the bridge pickup and a nice thick, round sounding neck pickup. This EVH Signature model benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Translucent Purple finish highlights deep and consistent flame figuring extending across the bookmatched top, and the finish has aged/faded notably (common with this particular finish). Cosmetic wear includes some shallow buckle war on the back, tiny dings, and a few finish scratches on the lower bout of the back. The satin finish on the neck profile is smooth and clean, made from EBMM’s hand-rubbed with gunstock oil and special wax blend.

A padded gigbag is included.
