Up for sale, a 1992 PGM Moon ST-225B in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and factory documentation. A boutique Japanese brand, this ST-225B is a very rare, upper-tiered model that stands toe to toe with the custom shop output of the finest modern boutique S-Style builts, featuring a trio of Bartolini 3S pickups, a high gloss Natural lacquer finish, and premium tonewoods including a two-piece swamp ash body and an maple neck capped with a slab 22 fret ebony fingerboard.
Weighing 8lbs 3oz, the natural acoustic tone is detailed, rich and bold, extremely lively and responsive to picking dynamics. The trio of passive Bartolini 3S pickups are rich and glassy, with a very full and smooth midrange. There’s plenty of spanky cut at the bridge and girth at the neck, and the push/pull "power tap" at the Volume knob cuts the number of coil windings in half for a more vintage, Strat-esque tone. Additionally, the push/pull control at the Tone knob engages the bridge pickup when the neck pickup is selected (and vice versa) for that elusive Bridge + Neck Strat sound that’s equal parts snappy and round, also engaging all three pickups at the “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector. This Moon ST-225B has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The high gloss lacquer Natural finish and pickguard visually evoke Prince’s H.S. Anderson Mad Cat Tele, and the pickguard exhibits a small amount of buckling between the mounting holes. There are just a few faint marks on the body as a whole, and the gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
