Up for sale, a 1992 Orville by Gibson Les Paul Standard model LPSW/T in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and serialized hangtag. This Les Paul is an upper-tiered model offered in the "Orville by Gibson" line with a bookmatched flame maple veneer and factory-installed USA-made Gibson 57 Classic PAF humbuckers. Made exclusively for the Japanese market and seldom seen outside its country of origin, this Orville is an official Gibson-licensed guitar and a result of a partnership between Gibson USA and their Japanese distributor Yamano Gakki. Named after Gibson's founder, Orville Gibson, this discontinued Orville by Gibson model was crafted at the Terada factory.
This guitar has traditional Les Paul construction with a mahogany body paired with a solid, carved maple cap and bookmatched flame maple veneer, and the one-piece mahogany neck features a long tenon neck joint and bound rosewood fingerboard. The natural acoustic response is both rich and detailed, qualities faithfully captured by the pair of 57 Classic PAF humbuckers.
