Up for sale, a 1992 Gibson Les Paul Standard in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This Les Paul dates to an increasingly lauded period of Gibson production colloquially referred to as the “good wood” era, featuring a gloss Heritage Cherry Sunburst nitro lacquer finish and a 490R/498T humbucker pair.
Weighing 9lbs 4oz, traditional tonewoods include a mahogany body with a two-piece carved maple top, and a one-piece mahogany neck capped by a bound rosewood fingerboard. Via the original 490R and 498T humbucker pair, the guitar has plenty of power on tap, and these alnico magnet pickups cover a wide tonal range. The 490R is Gibson's Modern Classic humbucker, featuring Alnico II magnets and similar in its response to a PAF, yet with more midrange emphasis. The 498T Hot Alnico bridge position pickup has Alnico V magnets, with plenty of muscle and growl, well-suited for high gain scenarios. This Les Paul Standard has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
