Up for sale, a 1992 Gibson Les Paul Classic Plus is near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and upgraded with Bare Knuckle pickups. Designed to capture the finer points of the 1960 Les Paul Standard, the '92 Classic Plus is a one-year intersection of premium features, first officially offered in the '93 model year yet available slightly earlier, differentiated by a heavily figured AA flame maple top, while also retaining the "Les Paul Model" silkscreen text on the headstock face (the text was modified to "Les Paul Classic" the next year, to the unanimous dismay of vintage Les Paul aficionados).
The Classic Plus boasts many features that are notable to the golden age of Les Paul production, such as a '50s headstock shape, thinner binding in the cutaway, push-in tuner bushings, ABR-1 bridge, and a slimmer 1960 neck profile. This Les Paul Classic Plus weighs 8lbs 13oz, boasting the traditional tonewood complement of a solid (non-weight relieved) mahogany body, carved AA flame maple cap, mahogany neck, and bound rosewood fingerboard, offering plenty of natural sustain and resonance.
The pickups have been upgraded to a pair of Bare Knuckle The Mule humbuckers: these pickups are voiced as faithful reproductions of the best ‘59 PAFs, featuring vintage accurate techniques and components including 42 AWG plain enamel wire, Fillister no.5 pole screws, sand-cast Alnico IV magnets, and solid nickel silver baseplates/covers. They deliver a traditional PAF-style tonal profile, with all the warmth, harmonic complexity, and depth of the iconic design, plus a slightly fuller midrange without sacrificing clarity. The wiring harness has also been upgraded with premium pots with tighter tolerances and PIO tone caps, and the original 496R/500T humbuckers are included. This Les Paul Classic Plus has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, dialed in with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Amber nitro lacquer finish highlights broad, dimensional curly flame figuring in the maple top, and cosmetic wear is limited to faint buckle rash on the back central to the lower bout and a few small dings on the body as a whole. The smooth nitro gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original brown Gibson USA hardshell case is included, along with the original pickups and wiring harness. The central locking latch of the case is non-functional.
