1992 Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst w/ Case

Up for sale, a 1992 Gibson Les Paul Classic in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. First introduced in 1990, the Classic uses the 1960 Les Paul Standard as a jumping-off point, boasting many features in-line with the golden era of Les Paul production including a correct ‘50s headstock shape, push-in tuner bushings, ABR-1 bridge, a slimmer 1960 neck profile, and the "Les Paul Model" silkscreen text on the headstock face (the text was modified to "Les Paul Classic" the next year, to the unanimous dismay of vintage Les Paul aficionados).

Weighing only 9lbs 4oz, this Les Paul features a two-piece carved maple top, mahogany body, and a one-piece mahogany neck capped by a bound rosewood fretboard. Offering plenty of resonance, sustain and natural acoustic bark, this Les Paul is loaded with the original 496R and 500T humbucker pair. Some of Gibson's most hotly wound ceramic magnet humbuckers, the 496R delivers a biting, bluesy edge with notable treble detail and an increase in harmonics, while the 500T delivers a rich combination of enhanced lows and crystal clear highs, wax potted for ideal feedback rejection in high gain scenarios. This Les Paul Classic has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The top presents extremely well, and the Honeyburst gloss nitro lacquer highlights subtle bubble figuring in the maple particularly behind the bridge and on the bass side of the body, with the figuring revealing itself at different angles. There is a small area of light buckle wear central to the waist and some additional small dings, largely relegated to the back, as well as a tiny bit of checking on the lightly ambered body binding. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss.

A modern brown tolex Gibson hardshell case is included.
