Up for sale, a 1992 Fender STR-130LS Pro-Feel Series Stratocaster in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Part of the short-lived, upper-tiered Pro-Feel series, this STR-130LS was expertly crafted at the venerable Fujigen factory and designed to only be sold to the Japanese domestic market. This STR-130LS Superstrat is an exceedingly rare example only produced from ‘92-’93, featuring a trio of Fender Lace Sensor pickups, gold hardware, and a Floyd Rose Original tremolo.Featuring an ash body, maple neck, slab 22 fret rosewood fretboard with a modern 9 1/2” radius, and trio of USA-made Lace Sensor pickups, this Strat offers a decidedly modern feature set engineered for speed picking and expressive tremolo work. The Lace Sensors have a particularly broad tonal range with Red, Silver, and Blue models coupled to a five-way switch. The Red Lace Sensor pickup at the bridge is their highest output model, almost humbucker-like with a fat punch and bright, white-hot bite. The Silver Lace Sensor in the middle position yields a fat '70s-style single coil response with increased output and midrange, while the Lace Blue at the neck has a warm, round sound. As with all Lace products, these pickups feature a unique radiant Field Barrier system that surrounds both the coil and magnets, reducing 60-cycle hum. The patented Lace Micro Combs replace traditional bobbins, giving the player a wider tonal range and better string-to-string balance than traditional pickups. This Pro-Feel series Strat weighs 9lbs 3oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mikes Guitar Bar with fast action, spot-on intonation and fresh 9-42 strings. The maple neck has a slender C profile with modest shoulder and an effortless, fast feel in every register, measuring .810" deep at the 1st fret and .910" at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard is a particularly dark cut of the tonewood, featuring a player-friendly modern 9 1/2" radius and retaining the original medium jumbo fretwire. The frets have plenty of meat and their full factory height, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-10. The guitar plays cleanly in all registers with a straight neck and responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The scale length is 25 1/2”, and the locking nut measures 42.5mm (1.675”) in width. The headstock is fitted with the original Gotoh tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The "Made in Japan" text and K-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate with micro-tilt adjustment, contoured for unprecedented access to the highest frets. The STR-130LS/FO model stamps are intact on the neck heel and in the pocket, denoting the 130 model tier (130, 000 yen), Lace Sensor pickups (LS) and Floyd Rose Original tremolo (FO).All of the electronics function as intended, with a five-way pickup selector switch, Master Volume and Tone controls and active Mid Boost control where one would typically find a Strat’s second tone control. A small circuit board for the active circuit is neatly nestled beneath the pickguard, powered by a 9V battery, accessible from the back of the instrument. The all-gold hardware includes the stock Floyd Rose Original tremolo system, famed for its stability and responsiveness; bouncing back easily from the lightest warbles to the heaviest divebombs. Plastics comprise the original trio of knobs and the three-ply black pickguard, which displays some requisite pick scuffing along the pick path. The gloss Light Amber Sunburst finish highlights the broad and dynamic grain in the ash body, with cosmetic wear limited to one small ding on the bass-side lower bout on the arm contour and just a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat on the body. The gloss finish on the neck profile is smooth and clean.A Gator-brand gigbag is included.
