Up for sale, a 1992 Fender Jazzmaster '62 vintage reissue electric guitar model JM66-65 in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A stunningly clean and very early example from the golden age of Fender Japan production, this "Made in Japan" Jazzmaster is particularly rare, crafted at the famed Fujigen factory. A textbook example of everything we love about the Jazzmaster, the instrument has plenty of twang and sparkle on tap, with a range of defined and powerful tones from the two single coil pickups, and warm, wooly sounds when switched to the Rhythm Circuit on the guitar's lower body horn. Weighing 8lbs 3oz, this Jazzmaster balances well on a strap and has a clear, cutting acoustic voice. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, this Jazzmaster features fresh 11-49 strings, dialed in for low action and spot-on intonation.

The amber-tinted maple neck has a slender, fast-feeling C-shaped profile carve with modest shoulder and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .805" deep at the 1st fret and .910" at the 12th. The dark rosewood fretboard has dot inlay and the original slender vintage-style fretwire. The frets retain their full factory height, showing only very light wear on the crowns beneath the plain strings on frets 1-7, playing cleanly in every register. The scale length is a full 25 1/2", the fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4" radius, and the nut measures 42mm (1.650") in width. The headstock sports a Pre-CBS style "Spaghetti" Jazzmaster logo, with Kluson-style tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The "Made in Japan" designation and L-prefix serial number are present at the heel just above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics work as they should, and the wiring is stock and untouched. The vibrato unit works smoothly and engages easily for quick warbles and surfy dives, working in concert with the original bridge. The chrome hardware is in great shape, with only light patina on the saddles and neck plate, and plastics comprise uniformly aged pickup covers and switch tip, with more restrained aging on the stock knobs. The vibrant red tortoise pickguard shows some concentrated light pick scuffing on the treble side. The Sunburst gloss finish has a vintage-correct burst gradient circa 1962, and cosmetic wear is limited to just a few small nicks on the lower bout body edge. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

A padded Fender-branded gigbag is included.

***We are dealers for the M2 Mastery bridge, OMV-P Offset Vibrato, and Jazzmaster pickups from Curtis Novak and Lollar, any of which can be installed prior to shipment for an additional charge***
