Up for sale, a 1992 ESP MM-270 Kirk Hammett signature Zorlac in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Crafted at the ESP Custom Shop in Japan, this is an extremely rare example produced in the months between the sunsetting of the MM-270 and the introduction of the MM-290, retaining the “lawsuit” Jackson-style headstock shape with (even rarer) “Kirk Hammett” text. With vertical skull inlays, a Floyd Rose Original tremolo, unpainted neck, dual EMG 81s, and an aftermarket Pushead sticker for good measure, this ESP checks all the boxes for the ultimate Zorlac.
Weighing 8lbs 9oz, tonewoods include a maple neck with alder body wings and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. The neck-through construction yields plenty of natural sustain and resonance, providing an ideal platform for the EMG 81 pickups. The EMG 81s utilize ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, designed for optimal note detail, enhanced high end cut, and fluid sustain, engineered so that lead work will slice through even the densest mix with an aggressive snarl. This MM-270 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
