Up for sale, a 1991 Yamaha SG3000 Custom in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. The top-tier model in Yamaha’s SG family, the SG3000 features ornate abalone top binding and fretboard inlay, and this particular example has been augmented with a pair of Seymour Duncan ‘59 humbuckers.
An incredibly well-crafted, soulful, and powerful-sounding instrument boasting neck-through construction, the SG3000 lives up its reputation of being a "Les Paul Killer." The guitar has an array of immediate and articulate tones with singing sustain and rich drive via the upgraded Seymour Duncan ‘59 SH-1 humbuckers; these classic pickups are wound in the vein of the original PAF, delivering the open, detailed sound of that iconic design with warm, airy lows and sweet trebles. Weighing 9lbs 6oz, this SG3000 Custom has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The original gloss finish is a vibrant Black Sparkle, and the top exhibits a couple spots of targeted touchup around the switch, adjacent to the Volume knob pot shafts, and behind the bridge where a vibrato of some sort was previously mounted. There are a few notable finish scratches on the back across the belly contour and some shallow nicks and dings on the guitar as a whole, but nothing particularly of note. The instrument is structurally sound, professionally setup, and features a host of features well-suited to the needs of the modern player.
The original black tolex hardshell case is included, along with the vintage SG2000 humbucker pair and pots.
