Up for sale, a 1991 Gibson Les Paul Standard in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with a vibrant Heritage Cherry Sunburst gloss nitro lacquer finish and the original Gibson USA hardshell case. With a carved two-piece maple top and solid mahogany body, the instrument has a big, balanced acoustic tone with sustain and punch to spare, weighing 9lbs 10oz. The 490R and 498T humbuckers are very early examples, one with a patent number baseplate and one with a Gibson USA baseplate, representing a transition between these baseplate markings. These pickups have a wide tonal palette, with Alnico II magnets in the neck pickup offering more chime and warmth, while the Alnico V bridge pickup has a snarl that cuts through with classic Gibson roar. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Les Paul Standard is setup with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The neck has Gibson's '60s C-shaped profile carve, slender and fast-feeling at the nut with notable roundness and heft in the higher registers, measuring .815" deep at the 1st fret and .985" at the 12th. The medium jumbo frets have plenty of meat and show no wear, playing cleanly in all registers up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut has Gibson's traditional 1 11/16" width. The headstock retains its "Standard" truss rod cover and features a set of bolt bushing Gibson Deluxe double line tuners which have vintage-spec greened keystone buttons.

The pickups have untouched solder on the chrome covers, and the solder is similarly untouched on the harness, with CTS pots that date to the 47th week of 1990. The neck pickup cavity has a bold HCSB (Heritage Cherry Sunburst) stamp. The chrome hardware is positively gleaming, and all of the original plastic parts are present including the gold speed knobs, cream pickup rings, pickguard, and switch surround.

The original nitro lacquer Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish is rich and vibrant on the two-piece carved maple top, with a deep Cherry gloss on the mahogany back and sides, accented by cream binding on both the top and neck. There is a light speckling of bubble maple figuring behind the bridge on top, and cosmetic wear is limited to buckle rash central to the back, light stand rash on the back lower bout body edge, and a few additional minor dings and scuffs consistent with light use. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss.

The original brown tolex Gibson USA hardshell case is included.
