Up for sale, 1991 Fender Precision Bass Fretless ‘57 vintage reissue in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A very rare and early Fender Japan model, this bass was a special order one-off as part of the Fujigen factory's Order Made program, with matching order stamps on the neck heel and in the pocket for provenance. This unique vintage reissue has been upgraded with a brand new Fender Pure Vintage anodized gold pickguard, finger rest, USA-made knurled chrome-plated knobs, and chrome "ashtray" bridge and pickup covers. Offering the rare factory combination of a maple neck and fretless design, the bass produces a smooth natural tone that's bold and articulate, qualities which translate well through the stock split coil P bass pickup. Weighing 9lbs 7oz, this Fretless Precision Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-105 flatwound strings and dialed in for optimal action.

The maple neck has a medium C shaped profile with just enough roundness in the shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, filling out with more substance as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .865” deep at the nut and .950” at the octave. The gloss-finished maple fretboard is pristine, the scale length is a full 34”, and the nut measures 1 11/16“ in width. On the headstock, the original tuning machines are intact. Virtually identical to their Pre-CBS forbearers, these tuners feature long stems, clover buttons, and full-size baseplates showing just a touch of surface patina. The "Made in Japan" text and K-prefix serial number are visible just above the Fender-embossed four-bolt neck plate.

The electronics function as intended with original full-size pots that date to June of 1991. The chrome hardware is positively gleaming with just a hint of patina on the bridge cover and neck plate. Cosmetic wear on the two-tone Sunburst is limited to a bit of faint scuffing and a few minor marks in the gloss mostly relegated to the bass side lower bout body edge. The neck profile sports a pristine ambered gloss finish.

A gigbag is included.
