Up for sale, a 1991 Fender "Order Made" Precision Bass ‘62 vintage reissue model PB62-115WAL in near-mint, 100% original condition, featuring a satin nitro lacquer finish and gold hardware. Produced at the venerable Fujigen factory during the golden age of Fender Japan production, this “Made in Japan” bass was part of Fender Japan’s Order Made program, which offered non-catalog models with unique feature sets.  Tonewoods comprise an ash body with a maple neck and a thick slab rosewood fretboard, yielding a smooth, balanced acoustic response with great midrange detail and note attack. The pickup delivers fundamental breadth and thump, with sweet trebles and inherent growl. Naturally resonant and weighing 8lbs 15oz, this Precision Bass benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve at the nut, filling out with more shoulder and heft in the upper registers, measuring .815” at the 1st fret and .995” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has rolled edges and a 7 1/4“ radius, and the slender fretwire is immaculate. This bass plays cleanly up the 34” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the carved bone nut measures 1 11/16” in width. On the headstock, the gold clover-button tuning machines have full-size vintage-spec baseplates and turn smoothly. The “Made in Japan” text and K-prefix serial are present above the gold four-bolt neck plate, and the neck pocket retains the Order Made stamp. All of the electronics function as intended, and the solder joints are untouched, with original full-size Japanese pots which date to June, 1991. The gold-plated hardware has a light dusting of surface patina, including the flat-topped knurled knobs, bridge base, and barrel saddles. The satin nitro lacquer Walnut finish highlights the dynamic grain in the ash body, with cosmetic wear limited to just a couple tiny nicks on the body as a whole. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is flawless. The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
