Up for sale, a 1991 Fender “Order Made” Yngwie Malmsteen-spec Stratocaster ‘57 vintage reissue in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This “Made in Japan” Strat is a non-catalog, custom-ordered instrument, produced at the Fujigen factory as part of Fender Japan’s Order Made program, which functioned as a sort of Japanese custom shop, offering a bevy of non-catalog features and finishes. This particular Strat is essentially a progenitor of Fender Japan’s Yngiwe Malmsteen ST57 model, featuring a scalloped maple fretboard, two-point tremolo, brass nut, pair of DiMarzio HS-3 single coil pickups (bridge and neck), and a custom color gloss Metallic Gold finish.
The two USA-made DiMarzio HS-3 (DP117) stacked single coil pickups in the neck and bridge positions pair with a Fender Japan ST-Current single coil in the middle (matching Yngwie's preferred pickup complement). The Dimarzio HS-3s offers hum-free performance with a broad low end that's warm and tight with a smooth, glassy treble response. These qualities combine perfectly with a heavily distorted amp, engineered for neo-classical shred. This Order Made Stratocaster weighs 7lbs 4oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The custom color gloss Metallic Gold finish is exceedingly rare and ostensibly a one-off, with light checking at the corners of the neck pocket and some minor dings and finish scratches on the body, largely along the lower bout perimeter. The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean, with some shallow marks that are not distracting to the palm.
The original Fender-branded tweed hardshell case is included.
