Up for sale, a 1991 Ernie Ball Music Man Eddie Van Halen signature model in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Made in the USA by Music Man from 1990-1995, the production totals for the EVH Music Man are notably small, with only 600 produced in Sunburst across the entire production run. Designed by EVH and the model that would eventually become the Music Man Axis (with some tweaks) after the official endorsement ended, this guitar features an absolutely killer bookmatched maple top with prominent dimensional quilt figuring extending liberally across the top. A basswood body and birdseye maple neck round out the tonewoods.

The pair of zebra bobbin Dimarzio custom wound humbuckers dish out plenty of articulate cut and sweet sustain, with more growl and attitude from the bridge pickup and a nice thick, round sounding neck pickup. The controls are as streamlined as can be, with a three-way pickup selector and singular Volume knob (with the correct "Tone" knob text as per the EVH model specs). The guitar weighs 7lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action and accurate intonation.

The birdseye maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with rolled fretboard edges and full shoulders in every register, measuring .845" deep at the 1st fret and .955" at the 12th. The neck has its proprietary Music Man gunstock oil and hand-rubbed special wax blend finish, feeling silky smooth on the palm. The maple fretboard has a 10" radius, and the "high profile, medium width" fretwire has its full factory height, showing only very light wear beneath the B string on the crowns of frets 1-7. The guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The locking nut measures 1 5/8" in width, and the headstock has a birdseye maple veneer, Schaller M6LA tuning machines with pearloid buttons, and EVH's signature.

On the body, the electronics are all original, and hardware includes the Music Man-branded Floyd Rose Licensed tremolo which has gleaming chrome plating. The rare Sunburst gloss finish highlights the deeply figured two-piece bookmatched maple top, framed by lightly yellowed body binding. There is light pick wear on the treble side of the strum path and only a few additional tiny marks on the top. Cosmetic wear otherwise includes a few tiny finish chips on the back body edge, a small spot of buckle rash on the treble side upper bout on the back and additional scuffing on the lower bout, and some minor dings on the back and body perimeter. The satin finish on the neck profile is clean and smooth.

A modern molded hardshell case is included.
