Up for sale, a circa 1991 Charvel by Jackson Super Dinky model SDK-115-SSH in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Crafted at the Chu Shin factory in Japan and sold exclusively to the Japanese domestic market, this sleek Charvel was a top-tier offering, featuring an “SSH” pickup trio (two single coil-sized humbuckers at the neck and middle positions), active JE-1000TG 9V active Boost circuit, and Floyd Rose-licensed FLC-101 tremolo.
The body is crafted from mahogany, and this SDK-115-SSH has great natural midrange warmth and bark. The J-50B humbucker in the bridge position is wound in the vein of a classic PAF-style pickup, delivering clarity, focused midrange, and airy warmth, and the S6-F single coil-sized humbuckers in the neck and middle positions feature blade pole pieces akin to Seymour Duncan’s Hot Rails. Similarly to that pickup, the S6-Fs are powerful and aggressive, with great balance and a sonic heft that translates to fat cleans and thick, fluid solos. The blade construction results in exceptional string coverage in all registers, and the JE-1000TG 9V active Boost circuit provides a potent extra kick at the flip of a switch. This SDK-115-SSH weighs 7lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
