Up for sale, a 1990s Washburn Nuno Bettencourt N4 signature model in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A very rare Japanese-made iteration of the N4 platform, this guitar boasts a USA-made Seymour Duncan/Bill Lawrence pickup combination and Schaller-made Floyd Rose Licensed tremolo. Manufactured at the Chushin Gakki factory to extremely high standards, this Nuno has incredible fit and finish work, virtually indistinguishable from its USA contemporary in its construction, hardware, and electronics.

The guitar boasts an alder body, maple neck with Stephen's Extended Cutaway, and slab 22 fret ebony fingerboard ensuring a balanced, articulate platform for the humbuckers. Pickups include a Seymour Duncan SH-1n '59 PAF in the neck position, and this vintage-style humbucker delivers warm and crystalline clean tones, with full and bright distorted sounds and smooth sustain. This pickup has a slightly scooped midrange, wax-potted for optimal feedback rejection in higher gain scenarios. The Bill Lawrence L-500 in the bridge position is big and smooth, offering plenty of cut and power. This Washburn is featherweight at 6lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The quartersawn maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders (verging on a D-shaped carve) and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .800" deep at the 1st fret and .895" at the 12th. The thick slab 22 fret ebony fretboard has a 12” radius and pristine stock jumbo fretwire, playing cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The locking nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width, and the headstock features Washburn-branded chrome Gotoh tuning machines.

The simple electronics function as intended, with a Japanese-made 500k Volume pot and three-way pickup selector governing the humbucker pair. The Schaller Floyd Rose Licensed tremolo has bright chrome plating, ideal for quick flutters and deep divebombs.

Cosmetic wear on the semi-gloss Wine Red finish include a small patch of buckle rash on the back central to the waist, some light scuffing along the pick path, and a handful of minor dings along the lower bout body edge. The satin finish on the neck profile is clean and smooth.

A gigbag is included.
