Up for sale, a 1990s Mosrite Ventures Model 3/4 size in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Crafted at the KuroKumo factory in Japan, this fascinating and extremely rare piece of Mosrite history features a slightly scaled-down (3/4 size) body outfitted with full-size electronics and hardware, boasting a shorter 22” scale length. Sparingly little information is available about this model both inside and outside of Japan, but per the four-digit serial number (0001), this instrument was very likely either a one-of-one custom-built example or a prototype for the travel-sized Ventures Models crafted during the later years of the KuroKumo Mosrite production.
KuroKumo-made Mosrites are sought after for their masterful build quality and attention to detail, and this scaled-down Ventures model features the aesthetic and hardware appointments of the Super Custom 65 model, with smooth knobs, a sandcast Vibramute tailpiece, “Mosrite”-stamped pickup covers, and a German carve on the basswood body. The stock pair of single coil pickups have ample power and midrange content, providing an authoritative sound that's quintessential Mosrite. Lightweight at 6lbs 15oz, this Custom 3/4 size Ventures Model has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
