Up for sale, a 1990s Klein Steinberger GK-4T in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. In 1988, Ned Steinberger met pioneering luthier Steve Klein, who had been experimenting with ergonomic electric guitar shapes. Steinberger suggested Klein fit his guitar bodies with their headless composite necks and hardware, resulting in the storied and sparingly limited run of GKs. Reportedly only around 250 of these guitars were made in the entire production run which lasted from 1990-94.
Weighing 7lbs 4oz, materials include a basswood body, Steinberger’s composite carbon-graphite and fiberglass neck, and a phenolic fingerboard. The balanced body composition is complemented by a powerful EMG SSH pickup complement, which delivers a wide range of tones from a mellow and jazzy warm sound to raw, aggressive crunch.
