Up for sale, a 1990's Grover Jackson Soloist Standard in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A rare Japanese domestic market model, the Grover Jackson instruments were the precursors to the Jackson Stars line, expertly crafted at the Chu Shin factory. Featuring neck through maple construction with poplar body wings and a 24 fret rosewood board with jumbo fretwire, this Jackson has an immediate, clear acoustic quality providing the perfect platform for the SSH pickup complement.

Loaded with a Jackson J-80C humbucker in the bridge position and a pair of well-shielded J-100 single coils at the middle and neck, the guitar offers a broad tonal palette via the five-way switch. Weighing 8lbs 6oz, we've had this Soloist professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and dialed in with 9-42 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The maple neck features a contoured heel, offering a shred-worthy slender D shape, fairly flat central to the carve with round shoulders, measuring .740" deep at the 1st fret and .840" at the 12th. The jumbo fretwire has tons of meat and well-rounded crowns, showing just a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-3. The guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The locking nut measures 1 5/8" in width, and the headstock is fitted with the original Gotoh-made and Jackson-branded black tuners.

The electronics function as intended, with Master Volume and Tone controls with knurled black knobs and a five-way pickup selector blade switch. The Floyd Rose II vibrato is designed for deep divebombs and broad, expressive wails with ideal tuning stability, and the unit comes complete with its arm. The gloss Metallic Black finish is extremely well-kept, and cosmetic wear is limited to a tiny finish chip at the headstock tip, a few small dings on the body as a whole (mostly clustered at the treble-side waist), and a small spot of faint buckle rash just below the belly contour on the back. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.
