Up for sale, a 1990s Charvel Surfcaster in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Among the most unique Charvels ever produced, the Surfcaster was crafted at the Chu Shin factory in Japan. Due to the serial and feature set, this particular Charvel was likely produced in either 1991 or ‘92, the first and second years of production, respectively.
Tonewoods includes a chambered mahogany body capped with a bound two-piece bookmatched curly maple top, a quartersawn American maple neck, and a bound rosewood fretboard. The chambered body results in plenty of natural resonance, and this guitar weighs 7lbs 10oz. The original pair of lipstick pickups are sweet and round-sounding with plenty of treble chime and sparkle. Additionally, the push/push Phase switch at the Tone knob enables slinky, out-of-phase sounds in the middle position when engaged. This Surfcaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
