Up for sale, a 1990's B.C. Rich Mockingbird model MG-801 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A rare Japanese domestic market bolt-on neck iteration of the Mockingbird platform with streamlined controls, this Mockingbird features a unique black pearloid fretboard with matching headstock veneer, traditional 3x3 headstock, Black gloss body finish, Floyd Rose-licensed vibrato tailpiece, and a pair of humbuckers engineered for high gain. The stock neck pickup is modeled after the Dimarzio Super Distortion with a high output ceramic magnet design engineered to provide a range of roaring tonalities with ample output and midrange push. The bridge position humbucker is an upgraded DiMarzio MegaDrive DP107, a hybrid design that features screw coils and a bar magnet delivering powerful cut, punchy low end, and a touch of midrange growl. This Mockingbird weighs 8lbs 9oz, professionally dialed in here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The one-piece maple neck has a very slender and fast-feeling C-shaped profile carve, measuring .790” deep at the 1st fret and .880" at the 12th. The black pearloid fretboard features multi-ply binding, dot inlay, and a 14" radius with pristine jumbo fretwire. The neck is straight and truss rod optimally adjusted, playing easily up the 24 3/4" scale. The locking nut measures 1 11/16" in width. On the bound matching black pearloid headstock, the black Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch well, and the silver foil serial number sticker is intact.

The electronics function as intended, with a trio of knurled black knobs and a three-way pickup selector toggle. The Floyd Rose-licensed locking tremolo actuates easily for deep divebombs and quick flutters, complete with the original arm. Cosmetic wear is limited to scuffing in the pick path, a spot of buckle rash at the back bass-side waist, and some minor marks and chips mostly relegated to the bass-side lower bout. The gloss-finished neck profile is smooth and clean.
