Up for sale, a 1990 Rickenbacker 325V59 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This discontinued Rickenbacker model is a faithful reissue of the 325 Capri, decked out with the factory-installed Bigsby B5 vibrato.A short scale Rickenbacker model that truly captures the classic jangle and percussive rhythm familiar to any Beatles fan, this instrument is outfitted with the original trio of Toaster Top single coils. The guitar weighs 7lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 11-49 roundwound strings, low action and accurate intonation. The maple neck has a round C-shaped profile, and much of the depth and shoulder of the profile carve is attributable to the thick slab rosewood fretboard. The profile measures .865" deep at the 1st fret and .875" at the 12th. The original slender frets are practically perfect with well-rounded crowns. The scale length is 21", as per factory spec for this true short scale model, making it easy to execute chord extensions and navigate the fretboard quite speedily. The nut width measures 1 5/8". On the headstock, the original back-painted lucite gold truss rod cover/logo is intact, along with the stock Ric Deluxe tuning machines. The electronics all function as intended, with an untouched wiring harness and CTS pots that date to the 35th week of 1990. The serial number is stamped on the mono jack plate, dating to December of 1990. The three-way pickup selector couples the middle pickup to the neck and bridge for tonal combinations only found on triple pickup models, and this guitar features a trio of Rickenbacker's higher output Toaster Top pickups offered in this era.Near-mint plastics include the dual-tiered back-painted lucite gold pickguards, and a small area of the gold paint has adhered to the body at the rear mounting screw. The quartet of oven knobs round out the plastics. The bridge works in concert with the original Bigsby B5 vibrato tailpiece which is a very useful and responsive vibrato, perfect for quick warbles and moderate dives, jumping back to the original pitch with ease. The chrome plating on the hardware is gleaming save for a touch of patina on the Bigsby. The gloss Jetglo finish exhibits light pick scuffing across the strum path, with one string-related finish scuff on the headstock around the A tuner post. There are a few small dings and finish scratches on the body as a whole, largely clustered along the back lower bout body edge. The gloss finish on the neck profile is clean and smooth. The original silver tolex hardshell case is included.
