Up for sale, a 1990 Ibanez PGM100 Paul Gilbert signature model in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Ibanez gigbag. Introduced in 1989, this example was produced early in '90, hand-signed by Paul Gilbert on the rear control cavity cover. The original signature model for guitarist Paul Gilbert, this discontinued Ibanez was crafted at the famed Fujigen factory in Japan and features distinctive painted faux “F-holes," an HSH array of DiMarzio pickups, and an Edge tremolo.

The neck and bridge positions feature Dimarzio PAF Pro humbuckers, specifically designed for chops-intensive playing and high gain amps. A transparent pickup with loads of presence and cut, the PAF Pro can easily slice through heavy processing, offering both snap and chunk in the lower frequencies with a spike in the midrange that produces a subtle cocked wah “aw” vowel sound. Treble response is tweaked to produce highs that stand out without getting brittle, with a singing, shred-worthy quality. In the middle position is an FS-1 single coil with Alnico V magnet construction, wound exceptionally hot with a smooth, beefy response, while the five-way selector switch offers a great selection of searing tones from the HSH array. The guitar weighs 7lbs 13oz, benefitting from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, fast action, and spot-on intonation.
