Up for sale, a 1990 Greco EG-1000D in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Crafted in Japan at the Fujigen factory, this rare Greco was the highest tier catalog model available at the time of its release, featuring a carved, bookmatched flame maple top and a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers.

Extremely lightweight and acoustically lively at only 8lbs 5oz, this Greco is faithful to traditional Gibson spec, with a long tenon neck joint, solid carved two piece flame maple top, mahogany body, mahogany neck, and bound rosewood fretboard. A model outfitted with Seymour Duncan humbuckers from the factory, this guitar retains one original APH-1 (bridge position) and an era-correct Duncan SH-1 PAF at the neck. The APH-1 humbucker is highly responsive to pick attack, equally comfortable with rich drive and powerful cleans, and the SH-1 ‘59 has a slightly boosted high end for optimal clarity. Both pickups are decidedly PAF-flavored, with clear, harmonic-rich trebles, rounded, spongy lows, and a tailored midrange. Additionally, both pickups were hand-wound by Maricela Juarez, the “Queen of the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop”, who has wound pickups for guitar legends like Eddie Van Halen, George Harrison, and Slash. This Greco benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The gloss Trans Amber finish highlights the tight, curly flame figuring that extends liberally across the carved maple top. Cosmetic wear includes an area of light buckle rash central to the back, and some minor dings along the lower bout perimeter and on the back. The top, by comparison, presents much cleaner, with just a couple tiny nicks on the treble side. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss.

The original faux leather gigbag is included.
