Up for sale, a 1990 Greco APB-1000 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original padded gigbag. This premium Greco model, produced at the Fujigen factory, is a Japanese-built iteration of the Ampeg Dan Armstrong platform, featuring a transparent acrylic (Lucite) body, three-piece maple/walnut neck with a rosewood fretboard, and “Rock-Bullet Bass” humbucker with blade pole pieces. Even the faux wood pickguard is a faithful recreation, with "Spirits of the Live" text where one would otherwise see "Dan Armstrong - Ampeg."
This APB-1000's “Rock-Bullet Bass” humbucker packs a punch, with a full-sounding, aggressive tone that delivers muscular growl and low end rumble while retaining excellent note definition. The two-way mini toggle bypasses the harness and sends the pickup directly to the 1/4" jack for maximum dynamic feel and “cranked” levels at the flip of a switch. This APB-1000 weighs 8lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 40-95 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
