Up for sale, a 1990 Gibson '62 SG Standard in collector-grade, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a Gibson USA hardshell case. A very early and very well-kept example of Gibson's '62 reissue spec'd SG Standard, this guitar features a number of vintage-correct touches including nickel-plated hardware, a small batwing pickguard and neck spacer, reflector cap knobs, Gibson Deluxe tuners with greened tulip buttons, and a vintage-style control configuration (with the input jack relocated to the top after having migrated to the side of the body in the '80s).
Tonewoods include a mahogany body and one-piece neck with a long tenon joint, capped with a bound rosewood fretboard, offering a smooth, warm natural acoustic tone. The pickups are a pair of Gibson's Bill Lawrence-designed Super Humbuckers, known colloquially as Gibson's "circuit board" pickups. Seen only from 1988-90 in Gibsons, these medium output pickups pair particularly well with SGs and handle gain with ease, delivering an articulate array of tones that can be bright and growly or thick and punchy with the flip of a switch. Featherweight at just 6lbs 9oz, this SG Standard has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action and spot-on intonation.

The back is free of any buckle wear, and this guitar is simply a stunningly well-preserved example. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
