Up for sale, a 1990 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 vintage reissue model ST72-500 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a molded hardshell case. Produced at the Fujigen factory during the golden age of “Made in Japan” production, this Strat was marketed exclusively to the Japanese domestic market and is uncommon outside its country of origin.
Tonewoods include an ash body and a one-piece maple neck, and this ST72-500 weighs 8lbs 4oz, delivering plenty of note attack, sustain and a detailed midrange character. The trio of ST-Current alnico magnet single coils deliver distinct tonalities at each position on the five-way pickup selector switch: the neck pickup has a bell-like chime and warmth, with thinned-out squawk in positions 2 and 4, and a sparkling spank in the bridge position. This Stratocaster ST72-500 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Natural finish highlights the tight grain of the ash body and exhibits very limited checking on top. There are only a few minor dings on the body, consistent with very restrained use, while the neck profile retains its smooth gloss, with a few similarly small/shallow marks along the profile length, virtually undetectable to the palm.
A Fender molded hardshell case is included.
