Up for sale, a 1990 Fender Stratocaster '57 vintage reissue model ST57-65 in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. An early Fender Japan domestic market instrument faithfully replicating the look and feel of a golden age 1950s Fender Strat, this guitar was crafted at the famed Fujigen factory.

Faithful to vintage spec and an upscale model sold only within Japan, this Strat has a resonant alder body and one-piece maple neck, with a sparkling, lively acoustic tone with plenty of natural snap and clarity which translates well through the original alnico magnet single coil pickups. The guitar is fitted with its original complement of USA Fender 57/62 black bobbin pickups, faithful to vintage spec with unbeveled, staggered alnico magnets, black bobbin flatwork, and push back cloth-covered leads. These are the same single coils used in Fender's American Vintage models of the same era, and coupled to the original three-way pickup selector switch, the bridge pickup is sparkling and chewy, while the neck pickup has ideal fullness and bell-like top end, with every shade of single coil Strat sound covered in-between. The guitar weighs 7lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders in every register and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .830" deep at the 1st fret and .915" at the 12th. The original slender frets show moderate wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-2, extending more faintly to fret 5. The guitar conforms to traditional Fender specs with a 7 1/4" fretboard radius, 25 1/2" scale length, and 1.680" nut width (just fractionally shy of 1 11/16"). On the correct '50s-shaped headstock, the original Kluson-style tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well. Above the Fender-embossed four bolt neck plate, the J-prefix serial number and "Made in Japan" text is present.

All of the electronics work as intended, with the original trio of Fender 57/62 Stratocaster pickups, the same single coils used on the American Vintage series instruments. The original full-size Japanese pots date to September of 1990. All of the original plastic parts are intact, with uniform aging of the knobs, and the chrome-plated bridge base and jack cup are notably clean, while the bridge saddles have uniform surface patina. The full-size trem block offers optimal sustain, and the vibrato engages easily with its original arm. The two-tone Sunburst gloss finish exhibits some scattered small dings and finish scratches on the body as a whole, with a small spot of light buckle rash on the edge of the belly contour, some light scuffing on the back lower bout body edge, and one finish chip north of the rear strap button. The neck retains its smooth lightly ambered gloss on the profile.

The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
