Up for sale, a 1990 Fender Jazzmaster '62 vintage reissue electric guitar model JM66-65 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A very early example from the golden age of Fender Japan production, this "Made in Japan" Jazzmaster is particularly rare, crafted at the famed Fujigen factory. A textbook example of everything we love about the Jazzmaster, the instrument has plenty of twang and sparkle on tap, with a range of defined and powerful tones from the two single coil pickups, and warm, wooly sounds when switched to the Rhythm Circuit on the guitar's lower body horn. Weighing 7lbs 10oz, this Jazzmaster balances well on a strap and has a clear, cutting acoustic voice. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, this Jazzmaster features fresh 11-49 strings, dialed in for low action and spot-on intonation. The amber-tinted maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with just enough roundness in the shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .835" deep at the 1st fret and .905" at the 12th. The dark rosewood fretboard has dot inlay and the original slender vintage-style fretwire. The frets are in great shape, showing only very light wear on the crowns of frets 1-4 and playing cleanly in every register. The scale length is a full 25 1/2", the fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4" radius, and the nut measures 42mm (1.650") in width. The headstock sports a Pre-CBS style "Spaghetti" Jazzmaster logo, with Kluson-style tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The "Made in Japan" designation and J-prefix serial number are present at the heel just above the Fender-embossed four-bolt neck plate. All of the electronics work as they should, and the wiring is stock and untouched. The vibrato unit works smoothly and engages easily for quick warbles and surfy dives, working in concert with the original bridge. The chrome hardware is in great shape, with only light patina on the saddles, and plastics comprise uniformly aged pickup covers and knobs and a deep red tortoise pickguard. The Olympic White gloss finish shows sparingly little yellowing of the clear coat, with some dings and scuffs on the body perimeter and a few additional marks central to the back. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is nigh flawless. The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.***We are dealers for the M2 Mastery bridge, OMV-P Offset Vibrato, and Lollar Jazzmaster pickups, any or all of which can be installed prior to shipment for an additional charge***
