Up for sale, a 1990 Epiphone EB-2 Rivoli short scale bass in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag. This faithful recreation of the Gibson EB-2 (and by extension the Epiphone-branded Rivoli) was produced at the Terada factory in Japan, featuring a semi-hollow maple body with maple centerblock, a maple neck capped by a thick slab rosewood fretboard, and a replacement humbucker. This pickup has more definition, treble detail and midrange growl than a Mudbucker (as would’ve originally been mounted in this instrument),  Additionally, the push-button low-cut switch delivers a sharper, punchy and thinned-out sound. This EB-2 weighs 8lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 40-95 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a medium depth C-shaped profile carve with modest shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, bordering on a soft V at the nut and rounding out more in the upper registers, measuring .820” deep at the 1st fret and .965” at the 12th. On the slab rosewood fretboard, the medium fretwire exhibits light wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-6, playing cleanly up the 30.5” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The bone nut measures 1 1/2“ in width, and on the headstock, the clover-button tuning machines function reliablyElectronics include the replacement humbucker wired to Master Volume and Tone knobs, plus the push button low-cut switch. The chrome-plated three-point bridge is notably clean, and the original pair of witch hat knobs are present. The serialized oval orange label is visible through the bass-side F hole. The gloss Cherry finish is framed by cream binding, with cosmetic wear limited to a scant few minor nicks along the lower bout perimeter, light buckle rash central to the back, and a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss. The original Epiphone-branded faux leather padded gigbag is included.
