Up for sale, a circa 1990 Charvel by Jackson DK-080-SH in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Made at the Chu Shin factory in Japan and sold exclusively to the Japanese domestic market, this shred machine was part of the Dinky Custom series, with visually distinct features including a reverse headstock, reverse shark fin inlay and Violet gloss finish. Tonewoods include a poplar body, satin-finished quartersawn rock maple neck, and 22 fret slab rosewood fretboard. The bridge pickup is a Jackson J90 ultra high-output, distortion class humbucker, and the neck single coil is a J-100XL featuring Alnico V magnet construction. The J-100XL has ample vintage-flavored single coil cut, and the J90 delivers thick, ripping drive that translates to monster chords and white-hot melodic playing. This Charvel weighs 7lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and spot-on intonation. The quartersawn rock maple neck has a very slender D-shaped profile carve with generous shoulders in every register, measuring .725” deep at the 1st fret and .860” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features reverse shark fin inlay and flawless jumbo fretwire, with a 12-16” compound radius and "scalloped" neck heel for increased access to the highest frets. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The locking nut ensures pitch stability against the most dynamic of dives via the stock Floyd Rose-licensed tremolo, and the nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. The headstock retains the original black Gotoh-made and Jackson-branded tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. All of the electronics work as they should, with a single Master Volume knob and three-way pickup selector switch governing the Jackson SH pickup array. All of the original black hardware is present and clean, including the single dome-topped knurled knob and the Floyd Rose-licensed tremolo. The gloss Violet finish is extremely well-kept, with cosmetic wear limited to just a few faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is pristine.A faux leather gigbag is included.
