Up for sale, a 1989 Ibanez RG350 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This uncommon RG-series Ibanez was crafted at the Fujigen factory in Japan, only produced from 1988-90, built for shred with an HSH pickup complement, TRS-101 tremolo, Wizard neck profile with a slab 22-fret rosewood fretboard, and gloss Dark Blue finish.
A basswood body and maple neck round out the tonewood complement, and this RG350 weighs 7lbs 8oz. The HSH pickup complement comprises two V3 humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions and an S1 single coil in the middle; the humbuckers are hot and powerful, delivering thick, ripping tones with tight, aggressive lows and singing trebles. The S1 single coil features Alnico V constriction, described by Ibanez as “tight, but bright. Very dynamic for chording and rhythm,” pairing well with the humbuckers at positions 2 and 4 on the five-way pickup selector switch. This RG350 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and spot-on intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: “Wizard” profile, slender with full shoulders, measuring .800” 1st fret, .875” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 22-fret, dot inlay
-Frets: Jumbo, leveled and crowned, virtually no wear
-Scale Length: 25 1/2"
-Nut: 1 5/8”, locking
-Tuners: Gotoh
-Serialization: P9-prefix (1989)
Body Specs:
-Wood: Basswood
-Pickups: V3/S1/V3
-Harness: Untouched solder, original full-size Japanese pots date to May, 1989
-Controls: Volume, Tone, Five-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Gotoh TRS-101 Floyd Rose-licensed tremolo
-Plastics: Three-ply black pickguard (some pick scuffing)
The gloss Dark Blue finish is, as the name would imply, a very dark hue with subtle metalflake. Cosmetic wear is limited to faint buckle rash on the back and just a handful of tiny nicks on the body as a whole. The satin finish on the neck profile is nigh flawless.
An Ibanez padded gigbag is included.
