Up for sale, a 1989 B.C. Rich Warlock WG-801 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Made for the Japanese domestic market as part of the NJ series (short for Nagoya, Japan) and rarely seen outside its country of origin, this shred-ready Warlock features a Floyd Rose-licensed tremolo system and high-output proprietary humbuckers. A model that has recently found itself central to the cultural zeitgeist, this Warlock is the perfect tool for ripping Master of Puppets after Hellfire Club (in fact, this guitar is exceedingly accurate to the specs of Eddie Munson’s guitar), or for taking a spin through Phoebe Bridgers/Boy Genius catalog.Tonewoods include a maple body and maple neck capped by a rosewood fretboard, ensuring a bright natural acoustic tone with plenty of note attack. The high-output humbuckers are aggressive and cutting, with rounder chunk in the neck position and more bite and growl at the bridge. The pickups handle high gain very well, pushing tube amps into smoldering breakup. This Warlock weighs 8lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and spot-on intonation. The rock maple neck has a very slender D-shaped profile carve with full shoulders in every register, measuring .790” deep at the 1st fret and .845” at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard has a 12” radius, and the stock medium jumbo fretwire exhibits virtually no wear, with plenty of meat and well-rounded crowns. This guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the locking nut measures 1 11/16” in width. On the headstock, the “R”-stamped tuning machines turn smoothly. All of the electronics function as intended; the pickups are wired to the stock harness with untouched solder joints and full-size Japanese pots that date to January, 1989, and the pickups are governed by a three-way selector switch, Master Tone, and independent Volume controls. The hardware is all notably clean, including the black dome-topped knurled knobs and the chrome-plated Floyd Rose-licensed tremolo.Cosmetic wear on the gloss Black finish includes light buckle wear on the back, and a number of minor dings and faint finish scratches on the body as a whole, largely concentrated along the body perimeter and lower bout on top.  The neck profile retains its smooth satin finish.A modern B.C. Rich padded gigbag is included.
