Up for sale, a 1988 Greco RJ-85 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A faithful recreation of the Gretsch Roc Jet made at the Fujigen factory in Japan, this rare guitar easily rivals subsequent Gretsch production, featuring a gloss Cherry Red finish.
Tonewoods include a mahogany body, three-piece mahogany neck, and a bound rosewood fretboard, and at 9lbs this Greco has a warm, resonant acoustic response with a broad midrange faithfully captured by the stock pair of G-Tron pickups. Greco’s interpretation of Gretsch's Filter’Tron design, these pickups offer round, punchy notes on the wound strings and plenty of chewy treble sparkle. Meaty-sounding in all pickup positions and taking gain very well, the humbuckers have an overarching smooth, midrange-forward character. This Greco has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The gloss Cherry Red finish is well-kept, with cosmetic wear limited to faint buckle rash along the bass-side of the back and just a handful of minor dings on the body as a whole, largely relegated to the bass side of the top and the back. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Greco-branded padded gigbag is included.
