Up for sale, a 1988 Epiphone Casino in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced in Japan at the Terada factory and featuring a gloss custom color Wine Red finish, this is an uncommon Epiphone reissue which preceded the current "Elitist" line.
Acoustically, the fully hollow all-maple body has a smooth, bright tone which pairs well with the original P-90 pickups. These pickups are wound to vintage spec with plenty of midrange bark, and a glassy, percussive quality. Whether you want articulate cleans or thick overdrive, these pickups can produce either with ease and with a refinement far beyond most other modern Casino reissues. Featherweight at 6lbs 7oz, this Casino has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Slender C, round shoulders, measuring .810” 1st fret, .905” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Bound rosewood, parallelogram inlay
-Frets: Medium jumbo, light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-8
-Scale Length: 24 3/4”
-Nut: 1 9/16”
-Tuners: Kluson-style Gotoh
Body Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Pickups: P-90 pair
-Harness: Volume x2, Tone x2, three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: ABR-1 bridge, trapeze tailpiece
-Plastics: Reflector cap knobs, three-ply pickguard with “E” Epsilon silkscreen
-Serialization: Orange oval label dates to ‘88
The gloss Wine Red finish is very well-kept, exhibiting some faint scuffing on top along the strum path, a handful of tiny dings on the body as a whole, and some faint scratches in the clear coat on the back central to the lower bout that fall short of “buckle rash.” The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.
A padded gigbag is included.
